No Dispute Over Holding Elections, State Reforms, VP

Kabul (BNA) US deputy ambassador to Kabul yesterday called on Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh.
In the meeting, the Second Vice-President while expressing sadness over slowness in implementation process of electoral reforms said draft law on formation and authorization of electoral commissions had been approved by cabinet and would be soon initialed by presidential office. He informed of decisive determination of government for holding parliamentary elections next year, adding that the elections would be held next year after security and economy were reviewed by relevant organs. Praising electoral reform commission for its effort and delivering its suggestions to government, Danesh asserted that implementation process of reforms was underway and there were no dispute in government in connection with holding the elections and implementation of electoral reforms. In the meeting, US deputy ambassador to Kabul said White House was interested to know what is necessary for implementation of electoral reforms and formation of new commissions. Supporting the electoral reforms process, he said that the US was willing to provide financial aids for holding the elections. Related to statements made recently by a senior security official of the White House in connection with danger political collapse of Afghanistan government in 2016, US deputy ambassador to Kabul said that the statements of the US official has been misinterpreted. According to another report, Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh also met yesterday with Swedish ambassador to Kabul.
