Denmark To Assist $90 Million To Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs has declared that his country would spend $90 million in Afghanistan in various sectors during the coming three years.
The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Martin Lidegaard in a joint news conference with acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zarar Ahmad Usmani asserted that the Kingdom of Denmark was committed to assistance to Afghanistan and would assist $90 million to be spent in military, economical and education sectors in Afghanistan during the coming three years. “The people of Denmark have stood beside the people of Afghanistan during had situations of past years and are still preferring to continue our military, economic and educational cooperation with the people of Afghanistan and new government of the country,” the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs added. In return, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Zarar Ahmad Usmani said the Kingdom of Denmark has provided $673 million to reconstruction of Afghanistan in the past 13 years, adding the country was committed to provide assistance to Afghanistan until 2017. It is worth mentioning that Denmark had military presence in Afghanistan and most of its soldiers were stationed in Helmand for counter-terrorism where 43 Danish soldiers have been killed and 211 others injured in fighting terrorism in the province so far.
