CM Approves Contract For Installing Afghanistan’s Satellite

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai chaired the plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers at the presidential palace yesterday.
Information and public relation office of administrative affairs department to BNA, to start with, President Karzai welcomed and evaluated the beginning of the electoral campaigns of 1393 of third presidential election for determining the destiny of the people of Afghanistan as vital and assigned the government authorities to observe full impartiality, and pave the way for just and transparent election and this way perform their national responsibility in this respect.
The president once again instructed the country’s security forces to ensure reliable security for electoral campaigns in the center and provinces and apply the provisions of decree no 73 dated 11/7/1392 of the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan during the election of 1393 and also apply the decree no 77 dated 11/7/1392 of the president to observe their impartiality during the election process.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology presented the proposal of the ministry about putting in bidding of the process for regulating and installing of the Afghanistan’s satellite at the 50 degree east on Indian Ocean and added that as per the provision of resolution no 3 dated 21/1/1391 of the CM the bidding process for installing of Afghanistan’s satellite was assessed by the CM committee and of the three international bidding proposals the EutelSat having higher possibilities is considered to the interest of the country. He noted that this company in addition to having 30 years of experience has in its possession around 23 planet areas and covers important regions of Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
The CM after discussing this issue approved the contract for installing of the satellite with the French EutelSat and assigned the Ministry of Communications and Information technology to sign the contract with that company.
At the end, the CM meeting confirmed a bilateral cooperation agreement between Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq and the bilateral cooperation agreement with respect to regulating of the issues pertaining to Afghan pilgrims to Iraq which was presented by Foreign Affairs Minister of Afghanistan.
