Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani unveiled a stone-made logo and inaugurated Delkosha Palace Masjid, his office said in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, after doing Friday’s prayer, President Ghani while praying for the soul of those martyred in a terrorist attack on Hamal Ist an wishing immediate recovery to those injured, said today we did one of our key duties which was construction of masjids in the country.
He added after almost 110 years from construction of Gulkhana masjid, this is the second masjid inaugurated in Arg landscape, the statement added. He said Kherqa-e-Mobarak, Roza-e-Mubarak, Pul-e-Kheshti and Eid-Gah masjids were under construction and further budget has annually been allocated for construction and repairing masjids in national budget. The president stressed that the country’s masjids should be properly constructed, because, they are the symbol of our faith, belief and jihad to future generations, the statement continued. It is merit to mention that Delksha Palace masjid was preliminarily constructed in 1376 and due to need of basic repairing, its reconstruction was started in Aqrab 1396.
