Foreign Minister Rasoul Receives New UNFAO Representative For Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) H.E. foreign minister Dr. Zalmai Rasoul received Mr. Ousmane Guindo, the new Afghanistan country representative for the United Nations food and agriculture organization (FAO) yesterday afternoon at the foreign ministry. 
Dr. Rassoul expressed appreciation for the important work of the FAO in Afghanistan over the years. 
“Your work will be particularly significant given our goal of realizing Afghanistan’s agricultural potential for self-sufficiency and food security,” Dr. Rassoul said. 
Mr. Guindo said he would continue to “provide the technical support to the Afghan government to achieve your goals.” 
Prior to assuming his new assignment in Afghanistan, Mr. Guindo, a national of Canada, served as the FAO representative in Cameroon.
