“Agreement With Hekmatyar Led Islamic Party Is Close.” Say Peace High Council

Sunday, April 03, 2016

Kabul (BNA) The authorities of Peace High Council say talks with delegation of Hekmatyar led Islamic party are progressing.
Ismail Qassimyar the advisor of the council in international affairs says talks between Hekmatyar led Islamic Party and High Peace Council progressing well and the position of both sides are close that could lead to an agreement.
Mr. Qassimyar did not explain about the way the talks between High  Peace Council and Mr. Hekmatyar lead Islamic party going on but said the last years’ achievements are of great importance for the council.
Although, it has said nothing about the demands of Islamic party in peace talks but Abdullah Qarluq the secretary of the upper house of parliament says the Islamic party has demanded two ministries for joining the Afghan government. He added that it was the time to think about peace, claiming two ministries not cure any pains of the country.
In the meantime, Sibghatullah Mujadidi a former Jihadi leader addressing Hekmatyar says escaping of Hekmatyar to the mountains is questionable, he should return in to the country.
Aturahman the deputy president of peace high council says in the two last rounds of talks with delegates of Islamic party notices have been change between the two sides and the other round of the talks would start very soon.
Now the question he raised that joining of Hekmatyar led Islamic party a branch of Islamic party to Afghan government what consequence would have to peace in the country.
Abdul Wadood Paiman the representative of Kunduz in parliament says Mr. Hematyar since long years, wanted to join the government, but his concern was about the presence of American and NATO troops in Afghanistan and lack of his confidence to credibility of Afghan government. Still the concerns still exist. If the future of Mr. Hekmatyar ensures by international community and international courts without any talks and discussion he would join the Afghan government.
Paiman says, since Hematyar has accused to war crimes, has concern about his safety in Afghanistan therefore, if the safety of his life ensures by NATO and international community he would join the government.
But Ahamad Saaidi a political expert thinks differently on the issue and says I believe joining of Hekmatyar to Afghan government is not important because he has lost his credibility in the society so his joining or not joining not affect the situation.
Also Saaidi emphatically says Hekmatyar will join Afghan government without obtaining any privileges from the government.
Although the process negotiations with Hekmatyar branch of Islamic party have evaluated and interpreted differently, but his joining to the national unity government can strengthen the hopes of people for restoring peace and stability in to the country suffering from decades of war and instability.
