Kabul (BNA) Ahmad Zia Massoud, the Special Envoy of President on Reforms and Good Governance called for boosting local products. Presiding over the meeting of the committee on monitoring productions, import and supplying construction materials here yesterday, Massoud said that 15 factories producing steel in the country but the country still importing construction materials at large rate. In the meeting attended by deputy to the ministry of commerce and officials from other government bodies, Massoud called for checking smuggling scarp steel and usable objects for outside the country. Meantime, officials from the norm and standard directorate said that the lack of electricity is the main problem that affected the laboratories to examine the quality of construction materials. However, the officials said that laboratories have been installed in Kabul, Herat and Nangarhar provinces to examine construction objects. Massoud in the meeting stressed for enhancing the capability of local factories products.
