President Ghani Hears Works of AGO

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with leading body of Afghanistan Attorney General Office heard leading works of the office and issued necessary instruction for improvement of affairs in the office. In the meeting, acting director of the attorney general office Zabihullah Kalim and officials of the office’s various departments shared the President their report in connection with creating eight committees, appointment of new employees, coordination with various ministries and institutions, capacity building, standard systems, counter corruption and rule of law.

Praising the Attorney General Office for its works and developments, president Ghani said recent changes in the respective authority and appointments should be effective.

“Any official if interferes and changes cases’ direction won’t be forgivable,” President Ghani said, adding that the system should somehow amended and cleaned.

The country’s President further said that officials of the attorney general office should specify percentage of amendments and clarify modality of their relations with ministries and institutions in their reports so that their responsibilities are clarified, adding that the capacity of prosecutors should be built in this office.

President Ghani in his speech said that principal steps should be taken for acceleration of the office’s affairs and further effectiveness, saying that all necessary means should be provided to bring reforms in the office.
