ANP Continues to Improve, Build Trust among People, Survey

Kabul (BNA) A new survey carried out recently by monetary fund for the rule of law and the UNDP, shows that the rate of people trust and satisfaction to ANP has increased this year.
This survey took place with 7458 people in 16 districts of Balkh, Herat, Bamyan, Nangarhar, Kabul, Kapisa Panjsher and Parwan provinces who shared their opinions on security situation in their villages, justice, governance and ANP activities. More than 80 pc of interviewees in this survey have said that they believe to ANP and 92 pc were satisfied with police behavior.
Addressing a press conference and media in Kabul hold on this occasion MoI Noorul Haq Oloomi said, “Although the findings of survey shows that the people rate of confidence to ANP has increased but ANP forces are in more need of people support”.
65 pc of people saying that security situation have improved in their localities, 90 pc believe that the society is heading toward right direction. The rate of children satisfaction from ANP has been 79pc reported and rate of people trust 80 pc and 93 pc people consider presence of police in society essential.
The UNDP authorities said that findings of this survey show that employment of new officers by ANP has been effective in improvement of people trust to police and they have described this survey encouraging to the Afghan people. Deputy Director of the UNPD believes that an extensive survey is expected to be held on ANP activities and people trust next year.
At the same time, out of 7458 interviewees, over 20 pc were children and 60 pc of those children said they want to become police offers in futures.  
According to The Kabul Times reporter, a number of lawmakers and experts expressed optimism on ANP activities and people trust to them, said that no doubt the people trust to ANSF in all field particularly ensuing security which is extremely important and could remain positive impacts in improving of security.
Abdul Hadi Khaled a military-political analyst said, “The diagnosis capability of the Afghan people has considerably improved and today these people know well that ANP are fighting enemies on the front line and every day give great sacrifices.
This improvement of people trust to ANP upgrades their combat capabilities. The role of current MoI leadership is also very useful.
The ANP problems and challenges are tackled and efforts are underway to speedup reforms in MoI.
A number of law makers appreciating ANP efforts and emphasize on their further equipping by the GoIRA and the world community.
The lawmakers said that ANSF particularly ANP have been performing their jobs sincerely but they are still in urgent and dire need of support.
Another survey was carried out by the Asia Foundation showed that the people confidence to NUG decreased due to economic constraints, the government inability in ensuing security, corruption etc. but the above recent survey has once again restored hopes among people.
