VP Danesh Message On ‘Constitution Week’

Kabul (BNA) Over the last decades, Afghanistan has been facing with absolute anarchism and political instability, second vice president Sarwar Danesh said in a message, BNA reported.
This situation has been started since Soviet Union invasion up to domestic wars during Mujahidin period and emergence of fundamentalism and terrorism in Afghanistan, the message further said.
Considering this political background and in regard with international changes, our country need a modern and democratic government. The message quoted the second VP as saying. 
Fortunately, considering changes appeared at the third millennium, and as the international community prioritized supporting people of Afghanistan against terrorism, Afghanistan’s new constitution acceptably codified and then approved during a unique historical process, the message added.
The draft of the constitution was comprehensively prepared by nine experts, the message continued.
Likewise, the constitution has been approved in a Loya Jirga attended by over 500 people political figures, lawyers, people representatives and political parties, the message added.
“Our new constitution as a national assurance is a unique law in the region,” the message said.  For the first time, this constitution has drawn Afghanistan’s relationships and interactions with world countries, the message pointed out.
“I, while calling upon people to respect the constitution as a red line, honor approval anniversary and the constitution week and congratulate it to all people of Afghanistan.”  The second vice president Sarwar Danesh said in a message.
It is hoped one day, all articles of the constitution to be practiced by each citizen and all government and non-government officials, VP Danesh said.
