Nimruz Governor Appeals for Increased WFP Assistance

 

KABUL (BNA): Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, the Governor of Nimruz province, has called for increased humanitarian aid from the World Food Programme (WFP) to various regions of the province during a meeting with its representatives.

According to a statement from the Nimruz Governor’s office, the WFP representatives briefed Khalid on their activities over the past six months, highlighting their assistance to the people of Afghanistan in various areas. They noted that the process of aid delivery continues in different provinces of the country.

With the rule of the Islamic Emirate, they affirmed that overall security in the country is ensured, enabling them to deliver humanitarian aid to all parts of Afghanistan.

The Governor expressed his gratitude to the WFP representatives for their assistance to needy families in Afghanistan.

Khalid requested the WFP representatives to initiate the distribution of aid in the remote areas of Nimruz Province. He also addressed the issue of water scarcity in the province, urging the WFP officials to assist the people of Nimruz in this regard.
