Herat (BNA) The saffron produced in Herat has obtained first position in an exhibition held in France recently.
In the exhibition where saffron from 16 countries were put on display, the Afghan saffron with its high quality was welcomed by thousands of farmers, visitors and companies, an officials with saffron process body in Herat said yesterday.
Saffron which produced in Afghanistan, according to the officials, is the best one, keeping in mind its perfume, color and taste.
Meantime, experts opined that saffron would gradually replace drug cultivation and its production in the country.
