Kabul (BNA) In spite of political and social problems in the country, the journalists during the last years have successfully worked to inform the people about the most important national and international issues raise the level of their understanding.
Due to hard work and sacrifices of journalists, now our people are taking active part in relevant national and international issues.
In order to better, introduce the achievements of journalists using the freedom of speech and media, an exhibition of media held in Kabul yesterday. The written, audio visual and electronic media put their productions in the exhibition.
Commenting on issue BNA commentator writes democracy and freedom of speech closely related to each other and the journalists and correspondents for strengthening that two principles sacrificed too much.
According the figures released by Nai organization or supporter of Afghan journalist, the violence against journalists and correspondents is increasing, but our brave journalists ignoring the violence and threats accepting their role and obligation in the society have done everything in informing and guiding the people. The development of democracy and freedom of speech are the best achievements of the new situation and moving the Afghan society toward a new and prosperous community. To achieve this great aim is not easy. Although the state has enforced many laws and regulations for ensuring democracy and freedom of speech in the society but achieving this great aim is not an easy task. One of the problems that journalists and correspondents daily face is lack of access to information. As much as the crisis deeper in the society, the authorities deny of offering information, while the principles of democracy demand not such a behavior. Therefore, to enjoy having a democratic society we ask the authorities to provide every opportunity for journalists and correspondents who work as a bridge between people and government to access to information. In this way we can achieve the great goal this is building a democratic and prosperous society.
