Kabul (BNA) Salahuddin Rabbani, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Ms. Deborah Lyons Canadian Ambassador to Kabul at his office yesterday. At the outset of the meeting, besides thanking for getting the chance to meet with the country’s Foreign Minister, Canadian Ambassador congratulated him for his appointment as Foreign Minister of Afghanistan and expressed hope that his presence as FM would further expand relations between both countries. During the meeting, Ms. Lyons briefed the Foreign Minister on her country’s cooperation with Afghanistan in various sections including development, assistance with Afghan security forces and other sectors and assured for farther cooperation in various sections. Afterwards, expressing happiness to meet Canadian Ambassador to Kabul, Rabbani asserted that Canada was no doubt a good partner of Afghanistan’s government and people and has made helpful contributions in various areas which are appreciable to us. At the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on matters pertaining political and security conditions of the country, region and the world.
