How Would Be Kabul-Islamabad Relations In Absence of Nawaz Sharif And Coming of Shahbaz?

Wednesday, August 02, 2017

Kabul (BNA) Pakistan is experiencing difficult political days. Nawaz Sharif due to involvement in administrative corruption and gathering wealth ousted from his position as prime minster.
However, he never forgets the favorite taste of power, trying to make prime minster post as his family’s heritage.
BNA reporter reporting the issue writes Nawaz Sharif recently due to a verdict issued by the high court of Pakistan retired from his post as prime minister.
Although, it seems that Nawaz Sharif disqualified by a verdict issue by the high court, then retired, but a number of political analysts, even high ranking officials of Pakistan government say that Nawaz Sharif has lost his post in bloodless quo and the military authorities for the third time ousted  him from the political arena of that country.
Nawaz Sharif after the assassination of General Ziaulhaq the military dictator of Pakistan and opening a new horizon in political life that country, he succeeded to access the prime minister house three times through the votes of people, but failed to complete his term of office and forced to resign each time.
Some people believe that Nawaz Sharif in last term of his office ensured good relation with his two neighboring counters this is Afghanistan and India, while previously relations between Kabul –Islamabad and Islamabad – New Delhi were tense. Now there is concern that wither in absence of Mr. Sharif, relations with the two neighboring countries will become tense again or not. The previous experiences indicate that Pakistan relations with Afghanistan and India have been always fragile. The situation was the same during the reign of Nawaz Sharif and governments ruled by Pakistan People Party.
Some Afghan politicians believe that in last term of Nawaz Sharif’s rule, regretfully,  some considered it an opportunity for normalizing relations between Kabul- Islamabad, relations between the two counties became more tense the ever. Fortification along Durand Line, severe military clashes in Speen Boldak and Torkham, enforcing restrictions, against Afghan refugees in Pakistan, creating barriers on transit roads between Afghanistan and Pakistan are examples of hostilities committed by Sharif’s led government. Meanwhile, it was during the rule of Nawaz Sharif’s government, the process of negotiations with Taliban collapsed, quadripartite negations reached no any result and coalition between Taliban and Russia formed during this period.
If we suppose that Mr. Sharif was seeking to improve relations with Kabul, he never succeeded in achieving this goal, because he could nothing without consultation and dictation of military authorities of that country. It is an open fact that political authorities in Pakistan always work in collusion of arm authorities. This is the army and ISI say the final words not politicians.
According the politicians, the presence, or absence of Mr. Nawaz Sharif in power arena of Pakistan has no any effect on relations between Kabul and Islamabad, because this is Pakistan army and the intelligence service  that determine the policy and action of that country regarding all domestic and foreign affairs. Therefore, if Sharif leaves the scene and Shahbaz replaced him makes no any change in the situation.
