President Ghani, Indonesian FM Stress On Bolstering Relations

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi who arrived in Kabul on Monday, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
Attended by head of high peace council Mohammad Karim Khalili, minister of foreign Salahuddin Rabbani and head of high peace council’s secretariat Dr. Mohammad Akram Khpulwak, the president welcomed the Indonesian foreign minister and her accompanying delegation and expressed glad that the country’s second high-ranking official visited Afghanistan after a few decades, the statement further said.
President Ghani said, “The government of Afghanistan is eager to use the positive experiences of Indonesia in term of sustainable peace and the high peace council’s officials during their imminent trip to that country will also discuss in the respect.”
Pointing on longstanding relations between Afghanistan and Indonesian religious scholars, the president stressed on its further expansion, the statement continued.
Thanking Indonesia for cooperation and supports from Afghanistan, the president said the country enjoys good experiences in the field of women empowerment and economic growth and we hope to benefit from them.
He asked the Indonesian foreign minister to encourage her country’s investors to invest in Afghanistan, the statement added.
Welcoming the Indonesian foreign minister and her accompanied delegation, Mohammad Karim Khalili head of HPC thanked them for supporting peace process.
In return, the Indonesian foreign minister Retno Marsudi thanked the Afghan government’s warm welcome and said the friendship between Afghanistan and Indonesia was not limited to the governments, but also the people of both countries have had good relations in the course of history.
She assured President Ghani that her country would continue cooperation with Afghanistan and stressed on expansion of relations between the two countries religious scholars. She added that her country is ready to cooperate in term of Afghan women empowerment and the country’s peace talks.
Salahuddin Rabbani, the minister of foreign in a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart stressed on further bolstering relations between the two countries.
