Rabbani Meets Turkish Counterpart

Kabul (BNA) Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs met the other day with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuþoðlu in Turkish Capital Ankara, his office said in a statement. In the meeting, both sides discussed variety of issues related to recent security situation of Afghanistan and killing of former leader of the Taliban, Mulla Mansour beyond the Durand Line, the statement further said. After defeat in spring offences and killing of their leader as well as selection of Mulla Haibatullah as his successor, Rabbani said that the Taliban have resorted to abduction of people in highways that has concerned the Afghan people, the statement added.
In regard with the report on Masnavi Manavi’s registration in UNESCO’s cultural heritages by Iran and Turkey, Minister Rebbani asked his Turkish counterpart to give information about it, the statement continued. In exchange, Turkish Foreign Minister expressed that he is unaware of the issue, but he instructed the related in-charges to investigate in this respect.
Turkish foreign minister also assured of his country’s continued cooperation and said Turkey will always remain beside Afghanistan.
