Kabul (BNA) Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs held courtesy meeting with UN special representative to Afghanistan, Nicholas Haysom, BNA reported the other day. During the meeting, foreign minister Rabbani appreciated Mr. Haysom for his cooperation in Heart of Asia process, holding International Contact Group and other meetings on Afghanistan as well as efforts to attract world support to people and government of Afghanistan, the report further added. Rabbani also wished Haysom success to his next missions, the report added. Expressing gratitude over his few years’ experience in Afghanistan, Mr. Haysom called electoral reforms important to the country’s stability and stressed on its coming into effect. Based on its national and international commitments, the government of national unity is decisive to practically step up in reforming the electoral system, foreign minister Rabbani said. Both sides also exchanged views on different issues, particularly, recent Afghanistan and Pakistan tensions in Torkham.
