President Ghani Seeks Enhancing Relation After Japarov Reelected as Kyrgyzstan President

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes on the presidential election win of Sadyr Japarov, as the newly elected President of Kyrgyzstan.

According to a presidential press office statement, President Ghani is looking forward to the expansion of ties and strengthening cooperation between the two countries under the leadership of the newly Kyrgyz President.

Sadyr Japarov has won a landslide victory in Kyrgyzstan’s presidential election, with early results on Sunday suggesting he garnered almost 80 per cent of the vote. Sprung from his jail cell during violent riots in October against the former president and his government, Japarov was appointed prime minister and then acting president, in the Central Asian country’s third toppling of a head of state through popular protest since 2005.
