Women Rights Won’t Be Victimized In Peace Talks: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said yesterday the rights of women won’t be victimized in the peace process.
The president made the remarks in meeting with a delegation of Afghanistan Women Network, an entity fighting for bolstering women rights in society. In a meeting held in Arg the president also pointed out that the government would strengthen women role in all fields including the peace process.
Hailing the network for its struggle to empower women rights, the president assured that a woman would be introduced as member of Supreme Court. He also added that 35 women with European Union financial support would be sent abroad to study in leadership field, adding the first-ever women University with the support of Turkey would be constructed in Afghanistan. President Ghani also assured that the government of national unity is committed to check violence against women. At least four women would be appointed as ambassadors, the president added. Meantime, the delegation thanked the president for his role in bolstering women share in the cabinet and Farkhunda case and bringing the culprits to justice.
