Tokyo (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met with “Ban-ki-Moon UN Secretary General at his residence in Tokyo city yesterday.
At the meeting, president Karzai thanked the UN Secretary General for his participation at the Tokyo conference.
Ban-ki-moon told president Karzai that the UN is present in Afghanistan for several decades and will remain in the country for long-years.
He stressed that in accord with the wish of the government of Afghanistan the UN is prepared to cooperate at the coming presidential election of Afghanistan.
As regards education of children, expansion of role of women in different dimensions, struggle against corruption, expansion of human rights and other spheres are other issues which were discussed by them.
The UN Secretary General once again stressed that Afghanistan is enjoying the strongest support of the international community.
President Karzai said that the international community should assist Afghanistan in transparent, just elections without interference that will be acceptable by the people of Afghanistan.
He stressed that the government of Afghanistan is committed towards ensuring the human rights, women and children rights.
