Afghan People, Got In Dire Need of International Forces’ Presence, Cooperation: Qanooni

Kabul (BNA) The first vice president Mohammad Yunus Qanooni in a farewell meeting with General Josef Dunford the commander of NATO-led ISAF forces here the other day said that the people and government of Afghanistan are in need of the support of international forces in Afghanistan. According to presidential press office to BNA, in the meeting, Qanooni besides appreciating of outgoing NATO commander services in supporting and equipping Afghan security forces said the people and the government of Afghanistan would never forget your services rendered here in this country. In his remarks General Dunford said he is proud of serving in Afghanistan, adding he is hopeful that Afghans to embrace lasting peace in their country. General Dunford in the meeting also introduced his replacement General Campbell to the vice president. The vice president Qanooni assured in the meeting that cooperation with new commander of the international troops would continue like the past.  The people and government of Afghanistan need the long-term support of the international community forces especially the US and are hopeful that General Campbell would spare no efforts in equipping Afghan security forces to help further ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
