Kabul (BNA) The First Vice President, General Abdul Rashid Dostum in a meeting with a number of elders from Balkh, Jawzjan, Takhar, Samangan, and Faryab provinces here yesterday said that the prime responsibility of the government is to solve the problems of the citizens.
Speaking in the meeting, few elders including Abdul Hai Hayat and Shamsuddin Sadat briefed the vice-president about problems including insecurity in their provinces calling on the government to pay attention in the respect.
After hearing the problems, the vice-president described illiteracy as the mother of all problems, saying the former regimes hadn’t paid necessary attention to promote education in the country. He also said that the new government would do its best to facilitate the ground for the youth to get higher education and send them abroad to study and after returning home serve the nation.
The vice-president also lauded the Afghan National Security Forces, for rendering sacrifices in defending the country and ensuring security. According to another report, the first vice-president in meeting with a number of the lawmakers of Kabul province stressed for improving security in the capital city Kabul.
Meantime, lawmakers Shinkai Karokhil, Allah Gul Mujahid and Shir Ali Wardak in their speeches noted at lack of coordination between parliament and state, noting the dis-harmony has caused problems for people. After listening to the demands of the lawmakers, the vice-president said that the security personnel deployed on the entry gate of Kabul would be equipped with modern instruments to discover and defuse the conspiracies of terrorist networks.
The vice-president also blamed poor management in the security zones for security problems over the past 10 years in the city and said he had presented his proposals for improving security in Kabul City to the president. On development projects in Kabul City, the vice-president said that as per new plan prepared by the Kabul Municipality, sport complex would be built at Chaman-e-Hozori and business centers would be constructed along the Kabul River.
