Turkish Ambassador Calls On First VP

Kabul (BNA) Turkish ambassador to Afghanistan, Ismael Aramis called on First Vice President, Abdul Rashid Dustom the other day, BNA reported.
In the meeting, the Vice President hinting on presidential elections said that Afghans hugely participated in the election process and now is the time to serve the people. Describing illiteracy as a big problem, the Vice President said that the new government would spare no efforts in eliminating illiteracy in the country by promoting education. He also noted that the government would do its best in ensuring peace and security in the country. The First Vice President in the meeting requested the Turkish ambassador to increase the number of scholarships for Afghan students. In his speech, the Turkish diplomat besides congratulating the elections to Afghans, saying Afghans would over the problems. According to another report, the First Vice President also received the acting ministers for women affairs, work, social affairs, disabled and martyrs as well as elders from Jowzjan, Samangan, Ghor, Takhar and Sar-i-pul provinces the other day and said the government would do its best to overcome all the problems and provide necessary services to citizens.
