South Asia Foundation (SAF) Contribution of One Million U.S. Dollars To UNESCO To Be Used For Women Education And Empowerment

UNESCO (BNA) Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh and Trustee of South Asia Foundation (SAF) Madam France Marquet announced a SAF contribution of one million U.S. dollars to UNESCO in order to further its goal of women’s education and empowerment.
The horrible Taliban attack to murder a 14 year-old Pakistani girl, Malala Yousofzai, because of her campaigning for women education, has prompted H.E Madanjeet Singh and SAF Trustee Madam France Marquet to give one million dollars to UNESCO to be used for women education and empowerment in the world.
South Asia Foundation (SAF) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization premising of 8 chapters in SAARC countries.
SAF has already contributed n amount of one million U.S dollar for Afghanistan to be used for preservation of cultural heritage when Afghanistan received its membership in 2003.
SAF –Afghanistan chapter with using of the donation started to organize cultural heritage preservation courses in different phases since 2008 and till now it has organized 4 rounds of cultural heritage preservation courses at UNESCO.
