Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Public Health says the mutated form of coronavirus may have spread to all provinces.
Mirwais Alizai, deputy spokesman for the ministry told BNA that cases of the coronavirus mutation have been seen for the first time in eastern provinces.
He added, the coronavirus has spread to 18 provinces, most of which are in Nangarhar. It may have spread to 34 provinces.
Alizai added that the number of positive cases of the corona virus is increasing every day after Eid al-Fitr compared to the holy month of Ramadan.
According to official figures from Ministry of Public Health, the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Afghanistan has now exceeded 65,000.
The virus has killed 2,700 people in Afghanistan so far.
