Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on Sunday, in a statement released from the Presidential Palace to media, strongly denounced the recent terrorist attack in Maruf district of Kandahar province.
A number of innocent citizens including the provincial election commission members were killed or wounded, said the statement.
“While condemning in the strongest possible term, the country’s president said the wild attack on the civil entity employees who are working for the institutionalization of democracy in the country, was an inhuman and unforgiveable act,” the statement quoted.
He said terrorist to hidden their defeat in the battlefield are targeting civilians and public facilities, and warned that they would never reach their goals by launching such attacks. The presented instructed the related organs, including the Independent Election Commission (IEC) for addressing the problems of the martyrs’ families and treating of those wounded in the deadly incident.
