Kandahar (BNA) A huge arms cache of Taliban militants have been discovered by Afghan security forces in Kandahar province yesterday.
Press in charge of Kandahar security directorate said BNA; the arms cache has been discovered following an operation conducted by Afghan security forces in Miayan Koh region, Dand district of the province.
According to the source, Afghan security forces discovered and detonated 41 barrels of explosive materials, 180 kg Ammonium Nitrate which used in production of mines, 27 grenades and some heavy and light weapons from the hideout.
Armed oppositions wanted to use the materials for destructive and terrorist activities in different parts of the province, the source further added.
According to another report, Afghan local police forces launched a clearing operation four days ago in Maiwand district, Kandahar province, in which various kinds of weapons, ammunitions and war equipment have been seized and detonated by security forces following the operation.
