Skilled Painter Passes Away

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ismael Nikrai, one of the country’s dexterous artist in painting has passed away due to critical illness, he was suffering in Kabul, BNA reported the other day. Nikrai was one of the country’s skilled artist in paining as well as one of the prominent culturists, with many of his art works are still kept in the National Gallery of the Ministry of Information and Culture, the agency said.
May his soul rest in peace, Late Islmael Nikrai’s prayer ceremony would be held in the Sarwar-e-Kayenat congregational mosque today (Wednesday), by the Ministry of Information and Culture, the agency reported.
According to the BNA, Nikrai, son of Habib Khan was born in Bagram village of Parwan province in 1967 in a culturist and illuminate household and continued his education at the Kabul University’s fine arts faculty, after high school in his native hometown.
He left for Iran, during the civil war, in 1991 and studied realism painting for three years there and then sought refuge in Pakistan, where he joined fine arts’ impressionism section for two years and then returned home after the collapse of the Taliban regime.
He played key role in establishment of art exhibitions in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Germany, said the agency adding the final exhibition, he set was the country’s independence reclamation at the Presidential Palace, where two of his arts have been purchased by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
