President Ghani Briefed About Turkmenistan’s Regional Transport & Energy Factories

Kabul (BNA) An event was held on construction of regional transport and energy factories of Turkmenistan in an effort to welcome President Ghani and his accompanying delegation during their 3-day visit to that country. In this event, the personnel of the relevant sections provided information on infrastructures and facilities of energy factories as well as importance of transport borders with the countries in the region. They explained the significant specifications of factories of tar, oil and gas as well as their production capacity, domestic consumption and export of energy to regional countries. They added that the production of energy of Turkmenistan is being implemented according to international standards and credible brands are utilized in this regard. The organizers said that significant attention has been paid to attract suitable markets in the field of energy, and a terminal is built at Afghan border which will be soon exploited. This terminal has storage capacity of 540 tons of oil. It was also added that the terminal can provide further facilities to companies in Afghanistan in this regard. They mentioned that Turkmenistan has the capacity of producing 300,000 tons of tar according to global standards annually, besides its domestic consumption there is capacity for exporting it to regional countries as well. President Ghani said that Afghanistan is willing to seek ways for investment and cooperation in this area. The president instructed the ministers of Transport and Public Works to seek and follow mutual cooperation areas in this regard. During the program, multilateral information was presented about providing services in land and sea transportation, in particular, in the field of logistics, capacities of transportation and exports and imports. The information included standardizing the transportation cargos which are said to be established according to international standards. Also the Turkmenbashi seaports have provided appropriate opportunities for export and import of commercial goods for regional countries.
