Helmand War In Foreigners’ Interests: President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai in a meeting with a number of elders from Farah, Helmand and Nimroz provinces at presidential palace the other day said that the recent war in Helmand was for the interests of foreigners.
The elders in the meeting expressed concerns over the recent clashes in Helmand and called upon the government to provide assistance to the affected people in its earliest.
The elders also stressed that the election commission should announce the results of the presidential run-off on stipulated time.
Lauding the services of President Karzai over the past 13 years and called upon the next president to follow the footprints of President Karzai during his five-year tenure.
In his remarks, President Karzai said that the war in Helmand is for the interests of foreigners, saying foreigners are involved there in the war.
The president once again called upon Afghan Taliban to be kind with your nation and don’t shed the blood of people.
