Kabul (BNA) The Afghan people expect NATO member countries and international community to further strengthen and equip Afghan security forces in order to fight successfully and defeat terrorist and extremist groups in the region.
BNA military analyst commenting on the issue writes the NATO member countries summit ended with commitment of supporting Afghan security and defense forces until 2020.
The decision of the leaders of NATO member countries in regard supporting Afghan security forces indicates that Afghanistan is at the focus of attention of international community and they are committed to restoring peace and stability in to the country.
NATO adopts this important decision, that Afghanistan since 2001 has been the scene of military mission of that organization abroad.
Although, NATO has ended its combatant mission in 2014 in Afghanistan, continued its assistances in a new framework called resolute support. Unfortunately, the terrorists’ activities are continuing in Afghanistan as before. The terrorists and extremists groups affiliated to the intelligence of the region are active in the region and continue the killing Afghan innocent people ruthlessly and destroying their homeland in barbaric manner. This has caused serious threat to the countries of the region and beyond the region. For overcoming these disastrous threats, since Afghanistan fighting in first battlefront against terrorist and extremist groups, therefore all sided and extensive cooperation to that country should be focus of international community, if they really want to end terror.
The recent commitments of NATO regarding to Afghanistan has been effective that cannot be ignored, but this is a clear fact that the Afghan security forces who are involved in direct war against terrorism and extremism that not only threat Afghanistan and the region but the entire world. Therefore, this horrible situation asks NATO and international community to equip Afghan forces with modern weapons including heavy weapons, strengthen Afghan air force, train, and equip Afghan intelligence service with up to date technology. If they do so, the threats of terrorism will come to the end.
Today Afghan security forces have combined of the most experience, patriotic and brave people are ready to defend their national sovereignty, territorial integrity and fight terrorism and extremism the enemies of humanity successfully. In this sacred battle they only need to be equip with weapons and equipment’s required.
Supporting and strengthening Afghan security forces certainly will reduce concerns in some western countries, therefore, for restoring peace and stability to the region and entire world Afghan security forces should equipped as required and addition to that the international community should seriously focus on terrorists hideouts and save heavens located outside Afghan borders.
