Zakhelwal, Pakistan Education Commission Chief Discuss Afghan Students’ Problems

Kabul (BNA) Afghanistan Ambassador Hazrat Omar Zakhelwal has met Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman and discussed problems facing Afghan students, in the neighboring country.
The ambassador asked HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad to remove uncertainty about the future of Afghan students at the Baqayee Medical University in Karachi and Imperial Colleague in Lahore.
Writing in his official facebook page, Zakhilwal that visa issues of Afghan students at the International Islamic University (IIU) in Islamabad and the Fatima Jinnah University in Lahore were also taken up.
The envoy, who had earlier conferred on Afghan students’ issues with Pakistani officials over the phone, said the HEC head had told him the issues of Afghan students at Fatima Jinnah University had been resolved.
The Pakistani side also assured the diplomat of resolving the remaining issues within a month.

Nisar Ahmad Salar, representing Afghan students, said their documents had not been registered as part of the formal procedure by HEC. He alleged the officials concerned created problems for them.
