Regional Consensus Important for Peace in Afghanistan: Wells

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani met with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Alice G. Wells here the other day, a statement from MoFA said.
Recalling the recent efforts of the United State of American for bringing peace to Afghanistan, Wells deemed reginal consensus important for peace in Afghanistan.  She also pointed out the importance of Afghanistan’s upcoming Presidential Elections said stressed transparent and reliable elections.
FM Rabbani emphasized on Afghan-led and Afghan owned comprehensive peace talks in which everyone can see themselves, the statement added.
Both sides discussed bilateral and regional cooperation and counter-terrorism issues, the statement concluded.
