Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Meets UAE Ambassador To Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Hekmat Khalil Karzai, Deputy Minister of Political Affairs for Foreign Affairs Ministry met yesterday with Yousuf bin Saif al Ali, United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador here in Kabul.
At the meeting, Karzai first spoke related to confirmation of UAE embassy to Kabul in connection with reaffirmation of new electronic passports of traders and other Afghan citizens and said that putting limitations and tough conditions on Afghan citizens’ passports has created lots of problems for consulate branch of foreign affairs ministry, asking for overall consideration and cooperation of the UAE embassy to Kabul in this regard. Afterward, UAE ambassador to Kabul pledged that reaffirmation of passports and putting limitations in issuing visas to Afghans would be seriously followed, adding that if it was necessary he would share the problems with his county’s officials. At the end of the meeting, both sides discussed related to expansion and strengthening of cooperation in trade, investment in Afghanistan, reconstruction, agriculture and irrigation, extraction of mines and other infrastructural sectors of the country.
