KABUL(BNA) Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture, in a meeting with the head of Aga Khan Cultural Services and his accompanying delegation, received the report of the delegation’s studies on the rehabilitation of “Panj minaret” of Herat. today
According to BNA reporter; The meeting was also attended by the heads of historical monuments, archeology, and the National Museum.
They pointed out that this minaret is in serious need of rehabilitation and its rehabilitation work will be done in two phases, in the first stage, the strength of the minaret will be by the British to prevent the collapse of the minaret and to prepare the ground for the basic work of reintegration.
Afterward, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture praised the functions and efforts of the Aga Khan Cultural Services Board and stressed the need to start the work of strengthening the “Panj minaret” of Herat as soon as possible.
The meeting decided that a joint delegation of the Ministry of Information and Culture and the Aga Khan Cultural Services Institution travel to the province in the near future to begin the first phase of work on the rehabilitation of the “Panj minaret” of Herat.
