Qanuni Picked As Marshal Fahim’s Replacement

Kabul (BNA) The advisory meeting led by President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai on Tuesday approved ex-education minister and leading parliamentarian, Mohammad Younus Qanuni as First-Vice President and a good pick to replace with deceased Marshal Fahim.
A presidential press office statement said the consultative meeting attended by jihadi leaders and politicians conducted a poll with the members overwhelmingly voting in favor of Mohammad Younus Qanuni to be nominated as the first vice-president instead of Mohammad Qasim Fahim, the country’s only Marshal.
Prof. Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayaf, Pir Sayed Ahmad Gilani, Shaikh Asef Muhseni, Second Vice-president, Mohammad Karim Khalili, chief justice and Supreme Court Acting Chief, Prof. Abdul Salam Azimi, both houses speaker, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi and Fazl Hadi Muslimyar, Prof. Gul Rahman Qazi, Nimatullah Shahrani, Salahuddin Rabbani, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Mawlavi Qyamuddin Kashaf, Alhaj Mohammad Ismaeal Khan, Haji Din Mohammad, Wahidullah Sabawoon, Sayed Mansoor Naderi, Ustad Akbari, Khalifa Qezel Ayaq, Zarar Ahmad Usmai, Besemellah Mohammadi, Maulawi Jura, Dr. Mushahid, Hussain Fahim and Adib Fahim have been invited to attend the meeting with majority of them took part.
Marshal Fahim’s death of his critical cardiac arrest happened Sunday March 9, since which the government stood counseling for an appropriate replacement.
