President Ghani, CE Abdullah Express Sympathy With Farkhunda’s Family

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with the family of late Farkhunda here in Arg the other day expressed sympathy BNA reported.
In a meeting with the father, mother, sister and brothers of the late Farkhunda, the president assured that the government would spare no efforts to ensure justice, saying brutality and violence is not acceptable. Farkhunda was innocent and her innocence has been proved by the fact finding commission, the president stated.
No one will be allowed to take the law in hand and kill innocent persons, the president categorically said.
In his speech to Farkhunda’s parents, the president expressed confidence that judiciary would rule independently. President Ghani also called upon religious scholars and prayer leaders to brief the people on the outcome of the fact finding commission with regard to Farkhunda’s case in their Friday sermons.
The president said that the Ministry for Hajj and Religious Affairs has been instructed to hold prayer ceremony for Farkhunda’s departed soul on Sunday.
Thanking the president, the parents of Farkhunda said, “Farkhunda was your daughter and the daughter of Afghanistan’s nation.”
Speaking in the meeting, Qeyamuddin Kashaf, head of Afghanistan Ulama Council, denounced the brutal murder of Farkhunda as against Islamic teaching and said that all Afghans sharing the sadness of Farkhunda’s family.
Meantime, the fact finding commission headed by Maulawi Mahiuddin Balouch, after probing the murder case announced Farkhunda as innocent.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that no clue had been found to indicate that Farkhunda had burned the copy of Quran therefore; she was innocent and was martyred by outlaws.
Maulawi Balouch described Farkhunda as martyr and asked the people to respect her as Shaheed.
No religious scholar was involved in the barbaric act, the Maulawi asserted.
The head of fact finding commission questioned police professionalism and said the police had failed to protect her, saying anyone involved in Farkhunda’s murder must be brought to justice.
Farkhunda, 27 was martyred by a mob of people on Hoot 28 and so far 46 people have been arrested with regard to the case.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in the company of the fact finding commission visited the house of late Farkhunda and prayed for the departed soul of the Shaheed Farkhunda.
Besides expressing sympathy with the family of Shaheed Farkhunda, the Chief Executive assured the government of national unity would spare no efforts in ensuring justice with regard to the murder case.
