Religious Scholars Called Mawlana Fazel Rahman’s Remarks As Un-Islamic

Kabul (BNA) The Council of Ulema and imams of Kabul mosques in a resolution released here yesterday termed the remarks of Pakistani religious leader Mawlana Fazal Rahman as un-Islamic, a breach of Islamic teaching and condemned it with its strongest term. Mawlana Fazal Rahman said recently advocated the Taliban terrorist activities in Afghanistan as Jihad and supported it. In the resolution, the Ulema termed Fazel Rahman’s remarks as interference in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and denounced it. It also branded Fazel Rahman as an ISI mad Mullah. The eight article resolution that all Afghan Ulema or religious scholars including Shiite and Sunnis are united and don’t allow anyone to intervene in Afghanistan affairs. In the resolution, the Ulema also condemned the recent terror attacks in Paktika and other provinces which had claimed scores of lives as the result of the ISI-mad Mullah Fazel fatwa and called for the punishment of those behind the heinous crimes. The Ulema in the resolution also expressed their support to the government and called upon the national unity government to take necessary steps in punishing criminals, fighting corruption and ensuring nationwide peace. It also urged the government to consult with the religious scholars in taking important national decisions and also pay attention in construction of religious schools, mosques and improving social and economic conditions of Ulema and imams of the country. In the resolution they also asked the government to prevent cultural invasion by checking foreign serials broadcast on televisions which screened half naked pictures on mini-screen.
