Riyadh/Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met US President Donald Trump and discussed the security situation in Afghanistan and fight against terrorism.
In a brief meeting on the sidelines of the Arab Islamic American Summit here on Sunday, US president Trump welcomed President Ghani’s leadership in Afghanistan on fighting terrorism and implementing key reforms.
During the meeting, the US President also commended the brave service of Afghan security forces as they fight to secure their country. There are currently 8,400 US and 5,000 NATO troops in Afghanistan, and 3,000 additional troops has been considered for deployment to the country, aiming to train and advise the Afghan forces.
