KABUL (BNA): Samuel Opoku-Agyakwa, the Director of the Rule of Law Section of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), met with Matiullah Mojaddidi, a senior official of the Ministry of Finance, to discuss the ministry’s achievements and challenges in combating administrative corruption, collecting revenues, and adjusting laws.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Samuel praised the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for its progress in fighting corruption and increasing revenues, and expressed UNAMA’s readiness to provide further support to the ministry.
The statement also said that the meeting focused on the ministry’s work in implementing the anti-corruption strategy, improving the tax system, and harmonizing the legal framework.
