Union Members of Precious Stones Stresses for Cooperation of Govt

KABUL (BNA) Member of Precious gems union shared their proposal and problems with Nooreddin Azizi acting minister of Industry and commerce.

In a meeting, members of precious stones (gem) talked about stone transportation and asked for the cooperation of the Ministry. A statement said by the ministry to BAN.

The Member of goldsmiths and gold dealers provides details about the transportation of raw materials and the import of depreciated gold, which is currently sent to the destination country for structure and design, and asked for a permit by paying a guarantee and the product.

The Ministry of Industry will pay every effort to meet the challenges in this sector, assured the acting Minister to the members of the precious stones.

He added that an exhibition is will be held in the city of Islamabad which is a suitable place for Afghanistan; Facilities are provided and traders of precious and semi-precious stones can take advantage of this opportunity.

Noureddine Azizi urged traders to apply for a commercial license., which is a basic principle for traders to have a commercial license.

He added that anyone who works in the sector of precious or semi-precious stones, goldsmithing, and mining; they have to organize their activities within the framework of the Chamber of Industry and Mines.

Afghanistan is known to have exploited its precious and semi-precious gemstone deposits. These deposits include aquamarine, emerald, and other varieties of beryl, fluorite, garnet, kunzite, ruby, sapphire, lapis lazuli, topaz, and tourmaline, varieties of quartz, and Caribbean calcite.
