President Ghani Flays Terrorist Attack on Protesters in Jalalabad

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a statement released to media on Saturday, condemned in the strongest possible term the recent terrorist attack targeting a gathering of protesters in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar. The statement quoting the President said that the enemies of the country’s peace and stability by targeting people peaceful demonstrations and meetings wanted to challenge democracy in the country and to convert the people from their way towards development and progress. “Peaceful demonstration is an undeniable right of the people and a democratic principle, through which people and politicians present their wills. Attack on them is an attack on democracy and freedom of expressions,” said the country’s President. The President directed the related organs for investigate into how the incident happened and provide immediate aids for the victims’ households and those wounded. The President extended his deep condolence to the martyrs’ bereaved families, asked heaven for those lost their lives and immediate recover to those injured in the incident.
