Attack on German Consulate Kills 4, Wounds Dozens Others

Mazar-e-Sharif City (BNA) At least four civilians were martyred and dozens others were wounded following car bombing on German Consulate in northern Balkh province last night.
The incident took place, while a truck packed with explosive materials exploded in front of entrance gate of German Consulate at local time 11:00 pm last night in Mazar-e-Sharif city the provincial capital of Balkh province.
General Abdul Razaq Qaderi security director of Balkh told BNA, four civilians lost their lives, dozens others were wounded and there is no any harms among Germany diplomats in the attack.
On the other hand a health official in Mazar-e-Sharif city says, two persons were killed and 80 injured were transferred to hospitals of the city.
He claimed that the health conditions of five injured are not satisfactory.
Women and children are among the wounded of the incident, he further added.
Residential houses and governmental installations close to the consulate, partially were destroyed and most people were wounded due to glass broken.
German consulate located near Balkh governor office, governmental installations and residential houses in Mazar-e-Sharif city, where severally protect by guards.
Taliban militants claimed responsibility behind the bloodiest event.
