ASADABAD CITY (BNA) Afghan security forces by launching military operation succeeded to clear parts of eastern Kunar province from existence of anti-government militias.
The military operation has started 10 days ago by participation of hundreds Afghan security troops with support of Afghan air forces in different parts of Sarkano and Khas Kunar districts of the province.
A senior commander of Afghan national army in the east of the country told BNA correspondent, most parts of Sarkano and Khas Kunar districts have been cleared from being of Taliban and ISIS fighters during the military operation.
Armed oppositions also sustained casualties during the operation, but the exact number is not clear.
Afghan security forces are establishing checkpoints in cleared areas, so the families left their houses will be able to return.
