KABUL(BNA) The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan called on charity institutions to provide long-term programs for the disabled.
According to reports, press office of the Ministry of Martyrs and the Disabled has issued a newsletter; Mullah Abdul Majid Akhund, acting Minister of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, met with Ahmad Chohan, head of the South Africa Relief Foundation, and Mahmoud al-Haq, head of the Bait al-Salam Foundation in Pakistan.
The meeting discussed humanitarian aid and assistance to orphans and the disabled, and said that more than a thousand poor families have benefited from these institutions in recent months.
Appreciating the humanitarian assistance of these institutions, the acting minister of Martyrs and Disabled said that basic long-term programs should be provided for the disabled so that in the future this oppressed group can become self-sufficient and solve their problems.
He also called on charities to provide vocational training for the poor, especially orphans.
