Kabul (BNA) NATO Senior Civilian Representative (SCR) Stefano Pontecorvo on Saturday called on President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and reaffirmed the alliance’s commitment to Afghanistan’s long-term security.
"In a meeting with President @ashrafghani, I reaffirmed #NATO's strong commitment to #Afghanistan's long-term security & stability. We continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Afghan security forces," NATO said on its social media handler.
Meanwhile a presidential statement said that during the meeting, which was also attended by Dr. Hamdullah Moheb, National Security Adviser, both sides discussed the peace process, strengthening and equipping the Afghan security and defense forces, and NATO support for the Afghan government's plans, especially in Peace process.
