Kabul (BNA) The Afghan people expect their international allies, in addition to cooperation in war against terrorism; they should seriously work on further equipping, funding, and capacity building of Afghan security and defending forces in order to obtain the trust of people inside and outside the country.
BNA military analyst commenting on the issue writes US president has confirmed the new strategy of war in Afghanistan, according to which the general commander of international forces in Afghanistan receives particular competencies.
The new strategy on war in Afghanistan includes launching air operations and cooperating Afghan forces in battlefields against terrorism and extremism. Since the new strategy gives particular competencies to the general commander of international forces, therefore, American forces and their allies will have open hand in war against terrorism.
While the end of 2014 was the date of complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan but a number of the forces remained under the slogan of decisive support that included training and consulting Afghan forces, and practical desist fighting against terrorists.
Participation of international forces in a number of cleansing operations and particularly the air support of those forces from security and defense forces of Afghanistan indicate that the danger of terrorism still exists and should be precise and practical programs for counter – terrorism war that threaten not only the region but also the globe as general.
The recent activities of international forces, in support of Afghan security forces, warmly welcomed by Afghan people and the authorities of the country but it would be not enough. There are powerful and extensive physical forces in Afghanistan who can support security and defending organs of the country. They wholly understand the problems more than others understand and act with great responsibility. If today, the Afghans confirm and welcome, the new strategy of war in Afghanistan it could be comprehendible, but the Afghans expect finally their own security forces combined of the true sons of the country and familiar with customs and traditions of their people should capacitate in a scale to respond to the current requirements.
If the international allies of Afghanistan talk about the air support and consider themselves to that would be no forever, therefore, it would be better, the Afghan security forces trained fully equipped to perform their combatant duties by their own. Today many countries are engaged in training Afghan security forces and enjoy of having great economic and military power. They should deliver the job of training and advising to Afghan military experts who have left the ranks and files of the army because of various reasons, instead the countries with rich economy, support Afghan security forces with equipping them with up to date weapons and air support according to requirements of the situation.
There is no doubt that the support of international forces from Afghan security forces would be very effective in battlefields but would not continue forever, on the other hand reduce the credibility of Afghan forces among people. Therefore, we suggest the international forces focus deeply on equipping and funding Afghan forces in scale to perform their duties and this case there would be no need for foreign forces to bear the burden of the problems.
