Cooperation On Implementation Of The UNSC Resolution 1325 Extended Via MoU

Kabul (BNA) The memorandum of understanding on extension of cooperation for implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security was signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday afternoon, represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Ershad Ahmadi and Finish Ambassador to Afghanistan Mr. Ari Mäki.
In the course of signing this MoU, Mr. Ahmadi underlined the commitment of Afghanistan on implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolution and said, “at the Kabul Conference held on 20 July 2010, Afghanistan put forward a number of National Priority Programs (NPPs), including human rights and civil responsibilities, implementation of National Action Plan for the Women of Afghanistan, peace and reintegration of Afghans, which were ratified accordingly.
Afghanistan is also committed to pave the ground for further participation of Afghan women in peace and security processes and in security sector as well.
Our commitment to our international obligations is strong.”
This MoU for the first time was signed between Afghanistan and Finland in 20 June 2011, for the second time last year and for the third time today between the two sides.
This MoU will strengthen and expand cooperation and coordination framework between Afghanistan and Finland.
