Clashes Leaves Six Insurgents Dead in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (BNA) At least six anti-government militias were killed and three others were wounded during clashes with Afghan security forces in southern Kandahar province last night.
The conflicts took place between Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters in Maiwand district of the province.
Top commander of Afghan national army in the south of the country said BNA reporter, six armed oppositions were killed following the clashes.
According to another reports, Afghan security forces by discovering and defusing 9 round of mines succeeded to prevent several bloodiest incidents in crowded areas of Kandahar province.
No individual or group has commented regarding the mine plantings, but local officials claimed that Taliban fighters are responsible for the foiled mine plantings.
